Comments from Atsushi Oka (Utsunomiya Blitzen):

I was riding alone among the other teams' trains, but with 200 meters to go, I saw the distance and started sprinting, and I was able to win the stage.
I won a stage today, so that is a big relief for me. Depending on how the race unfolds, I will consider the overall, but first of all, I will be looking for more stage wins.”

Comments from GARIBBO Nicolò (JCL TEAM UKYO), winner of the overall men's red jersey:
The breakaway riders were absorbed, so we paced up from the pack to try to score some mountain points. However, our main goal is the overall result.
Although I am not in a position to aim for the overall result myself right now, I would like to fight as one with the team.
I especially want to aim for the Inabe stage tomorrow and the Sagamihara stage, which is close to the team's base.”

The best young rider classification (White Jersey) HEFFERNAN William (CCACHE X BodyWrap) comments:
I knew from yesterday's results that several riders on the team, including myself, were in the top U23 overall, so I was hoping someone else could take the white jersey. I am happy that I was able to sprint as hard as I could to support Cameron Scott and win this jersey myself.”
